Como parte integrante do projecto de artes digitais e performance “A História é Clandestina”, o performer e intimate mobile communicator Igor Stromajer estará em Lisboa para leccionar o workshop “Autovigilância Íntima”.

Autovigilância Íntima
O workshop irá explorar as possibilidades emocionais íntimas da autovigilância na Internet.
Os participantes terão a oportunidade de tomar contacto com a Internet enquanto ferramenta artística para comunicações à distância, no sentido de controlar e monitorizar objectos distantes e longínquos – e subsequentemente também a eles próprios.
O trabalho será realizado ao ar livre, num espaço aberto, e igualmente no interior de um laboratório/estúdio com computadores. Irá interessar sobretudo a autovigilância pessoal, íntima, usada como uma ferramenta poética para a expressão artística digital, questionando o fascínio pela tecnologia.
Igor Stromajer
Igor Stromajer (www.intima.org) é um artista multimédia e um comunicador íntimo móvel. Stromajer investiga estados emocionais tácticos e estratégias de guerrilha traumaticamente íntimas. Já expôs o seu trabalho em mais de cem exposições, em quinze países diferentes, e recebeu uma série de prémios. Como artista convidado tem leccionado em universidades e institutos de arte contemporânea em vários locais no mundo. O seu trabalho está incluído nas colecções permanentes de uma série de instituições de prestígio de arte contemporânea (Centre National d'Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou - Musée national d'Art Moderne, Paris, França; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, Espanha; Moderna Galerija – Museu Esloveno de Arte Contemporânea, Ljubljana, Slovenia; Computerfinearts Gallery – colecção net e media art, Nova Iorque, EUA; expõe online regularmente no Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburgo, Alemanha).

Intimate Self-Surveillance
The workshop will explore the intimate emotional possibilities of the self-surveillance over the internet.
Participants will get the opportunity to research the internet as the artistic tool for the remote communication in order to control and monitor distant and remote subjects/objects – and subsequently: themselves.
The work will be done outside in the open space or/and inside in the computer lab / studio. The area which will interest us most, is the intimate, personal self-surveillance. We will use it as a poetic tool for the digital artistic expression. Our work will be Internet-based, and we will use live internet broadcast video and audio technology as well. In general, it means: making very private things (private emotional spaces) very public (public spaces).
Igor Stromajer
Igor Stromajer (www.intima.org) is a multimedia artist and intimate mobile communicator. He researches tactical emotional states and intimate traumatic low-tech guerrilla strategies. He has exhibited his work at more than a hundred exhibitions in fifty countries and received a number of awards. As guest-artist he lectures at universities and contemporary art institutes worldwide. His works are included in the permanent collections of numerous prestigious contemporary art institutions, museums and galleries (Centre national d'art et de Culture Georges Pompidou - Musée national d'art moderne, Paris, France; the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, Spain; Moderna galerija - the Slovene Museum of Contemporary Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia; Computerfinearts Gallery - net and media art collection, New York, USA; permanently exhibited on-line at the Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg, Germany etc).
