International Conference on Network Culture
Conferência Internacional sobre a Cultura das Redes

 

The International Conference on Network Culture (ICNC'2001) was promoted by Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Linguagens (CECL: Research Center on Communication and Languages), a research unit primarily financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and associated with the Communication Sciences Department in FCSH (New University of Lisbon).

The event took place from the 29th to the 31st October 2001, in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon. 6 keynote speakers were present (Jonathan Crary, Jacalyn Harden, Henri-Pierre Jeudy, Claudia Giannetti, Ieda Tucherman and Mark Poster), and there were also 5 thematic sessions (Network theory, WebArt, Mappings of the experience, (Un)connected bodies and Technology and cyberculture).

The proceedings were published in a special issue of Revista de Comunicação e Linguagens, and the abstracts may be viewed online.
